Capra Reveals Details for Sophomore Album, "Errors"

Capra Band

Calling all fans of hardcore and metal music! On October 6th, brace yourselves as the electrifying metallic hardcore band Capra is about to unleash their eagerly awaited sophomore album, "Errors," brought to you by the collaboration of Metal Blade Records and Blacklight Media Records. If you heard their debut album in 2021 and thought it was an intense experience, prepare for an even more explosive journey filled with unrestrained energy, dynamic riffs, and emotionally charged vocals in "Errors."

Fronted by the powerful vocalist Crow Lotus, Capra has garnered attention for their emotionally raw lyrics and electrifying stage presence. With "Errors," they're not merely retaining the distinctive qualities that made their debut album stand out; they're pushing their creative boundaries to new heights. The band has poured their efforts into refining their songwriting skills and embracing a newfound determination to solidify their position in the genre.

For an exclusive sneak peek into their upcoming album, don't miss the music video for their latest single, "Tied Up," directed by Dante Torrieri with editing and direction by Jai Benoit.

The process of creating "Errors" took place at Estuary Recording Studios in Austin, Texas, under the guidance of producer Andrew Hernandez. Taylor Young handled the mixing, while Brad Boatright took charge of the mastering process. Both Young and Boatright were integral to Capra's debut album, "In Transmission." Guitarist Tyler Harper provides insights into the album's evolution: "I knew that I wanted it to pick up where the first album left off, but that it needed to have an entirely new attitude. If you listen to the last song from 'In Transmission' into the first song on 'Errors,' it's a continuation. From there, the album takes a new direction that still feels familiar but is fresh."

Despite their hardcore roots, Capra's music transcends genre boundaries by seamlessly weaving in elements of metal. The distinguishing feature of "Errors" is its genuine emotional depth that resonates through each musical note. The band's passion is evident, and their performance feels authentic and heartfelt.

Capra embraces experimentation and collaboration on "Errors." The album features Candace Kucsulain-Puopolo, the powerhouse vocalist from Walls Of Jericho, lending her distinct voice to the track "Human Commodity." Moreover, Dustin Coffman from Glassing contributes backing vocals to several tracks, adding another layer of depth. Producer Hernandez even adds delicate piano elements to the album's closing track, "Nora." This track stands in stark contrast to its predecessors, offering an atmospheric and haunting experience. Harper shares, "I've always wanted to show a prettier/lighter side to this band where it's not always aggressive. Life is a rollercoaster and sometimes you need to throw some pretty piano into it."

Guitarist Tyler Harper envisions each album as a continuation of the last, followed by a distinct journey of its own. The closing track, "Nora," from "Errors," provides a tantalizing glimpse into the band's aspirations for their third album. It offers an intriguing insight into the band's willingness to explore new sonic territories while preserving their core essence.

While we await the release of "Errors," Capra is preparing to hit the road. Known for their relentless touring, the band is set to deliver electrifying performances across North America and beyond. Their shows go beyond music; they're about building connections with fans, old and new. As Lotus emphasises, "Care about us because we care about you. And because we are a part of creating something our community can be proud of."

Get ready to immerse yourself in the sonic adventure that is "Errors." Capra's evolution, raw emotion, and unwavering commitment to their craft promise an album that's not just music, but an experience that resonates deeply.
