Zephyra Returns with New Music: 'Vortex Inside' and 'The Hardest Projection'
After nearly five years of silence, Swedish metal band Zephyra has burst back onto the scene with not just one, but two exciting new singles.
Formed in 2011, Zephyra has made a name for themselves in the metal genre with their unique blend of thrash and melodic death metal. With Åsa's powerful vocals and a wide-ranging sound, the band has captured the hearts of fans across Sweden and beyond. Since their last full-length album, FALL. RISE. CONQUER., released in 2019, the band took some time off for personal reasons. Now, they’re back, and their return is marked by a renewed energy and passion for their music. Having featured the band a number of times in the past - we are really excited to see their return.
“Vortex Inside” was released on August 16, 2024, and quickly garnered attention. The accompanying music video, which premiered on August 18, amplifies the song’s themes of struggle and resilience. It’s a powerful reminder of why fans fell in love with Zephyra in the first place.
“Vortex Inside” features all the elements that Zephyra fans have come to expect: intense riffs, intricate melodies, and Åsa’s distinct vocal range that effortlessly navigates between haunting melodies and powerful growls. The song encapsulates the band’s journey and serves as a declaration of their return.
Just as fans were beginning to celebrate the return of Zephyra, the band surprised everyone with the release of their second single, “The Hardest Projection,” on October 11, 2024. This track takes a different direction, featuring a heavy, mid-tempo groove that contrasts with the frenetic energy of “Vortex Inside.”
“The Hardest Projection” maintains the unmistakable Zephyra vibe while diving deeper into themes of introspection and growth. The official music video, which dropped on October 20, further enhances the song's message, showcasing the band’s evolution over the years.
To celebrate these new releases, Zephyra is gearing up for a series of live performances, starting with a home-based release party. This marks a thrilling return to the stage for the band, allowing them to reconnect with their fans and share their new music live.
With the resurgence of Zephyra, it’s clear that the band has not only overcome their hiatus but has returned stronger and more dynamic than ever. Keep an eye on their official channels for updates on upcoming shows and future releases.
