TEMPERANCE New Album, "Hermitage - Daruma's Eyes Pt. 2"

They've just dropped a new lyric video for their second single, "No Return," a tantalising taste from their highly-anticipated concept album, Hermitage - Daruma's Eyes Pt. 2, scheduled for release on October 20, 2023!
But the news doesn't end there! TEMPERANCE is also introducing their revamped line-up, poised to make appearances at various festivals this year. Furthermore, they have thrilling news for their fans as they prepare to join SERENITY's Nemesis AD European tour in the spring of 2024.
Singer and guitarist Marco Pastorino provided some valuable insights into "No Return": "After the opening track of the album, ‘Daruma,’ we decided to give you something from the middle of the story. You will discover some details about Viktor's journey, the main character of Hermitage, plus one of the best vocal performances of Kristin Starkey."

Expanding their line-up to include the professional opera/metal singer and vocal coach Kristin Starkey, alongside vocalist Michele Guaitoli (known from Visions of Atlantis) and singer/guitarist Marco Pastorino (from Serenity), TEMPERANCE has elevated their craft to new heights. Collaborations with guest musicians such as Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon), Fabienne Erni (Eluveitie, Illumishade), Laura Fella (Faun), and Alessandro Conti (Twilight Force) further enrich this thrilling musical odyssey. For those who crave a deeper connection to the album's story, a limited Hermitage book, penned by Marco Pastorino, is available.
The concept behind the album transports listeners to another era, where the protagonist Viktor's encounter with a Japanese doll named Daruma catapults him into the mystical village of Hermitage. There, Viktor embarks on a journey to uncover the village's secrets, one track at a time. Caught in a feud between the siblings Anningan and Irin, Viktor's destiny holds the key to resolving their conflict.
The album's tale commences with "Daruma," featuring galloping guitar passages and the evocative narration by the multitalented Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon). The malevolent tones of Kristin Starkey introduce the villain, Anningan, in a gripping manner. "Welcome To Hermitage" immerses listeners in the magical world of Hermitage, with enchanting flutes, ethereal chimes, and vocal harmonies contributed by Fabienne Erni (Eluveitie, Illumishade) and Laura Fella (Faun). "Join Me" offers a captivating journey from stunning vocal harmonies to grand compositions, while "Darkness is just a Drawing" and "Full Of Memories" capture the essence of Hermitage - Daruma's Eyes Pt. 2. The album reaches its grand finale with "Cliff," featuring soaring melodies, epic orchestration, and unforgettable vocal performances.
The entire concept album was meticulously crafted by TEMPERANCE's guitarist and singer Marco Pastorino and expertly mixed and mastered by Simone Mularoni (known for his work with Luca Turilli, Michael Romeo, Twilight Force) at Domination Studio in San Marino.
